Neil & Flora got married in Yorkshire

July 10th, 2012

This is a wedding from last year and whilst preparing this post I noticed that it’s interesting how my style has developed. I’m very confident in my own work now, (I was especially chuffed with Chris and Hannah’s wedding which was on the blog last) but looking back a whole year, I’m happy to say that I’m equally thrilled with my results even now.
I hope I can continue to grow, improve and present excellent photojournalistic coverage of amazing days for my spectacular couples.

Let me tell you a little about Neil & Flora’s wedding day.
First off though, how cool is Flora’s name?! Her maiden name was Middlemiss. Flora Middlemiss. What a ring it has!

Flora got ready with her girls in their little home just outside of Harrogate, such a beautiful place.
One of the bouquets didn’t arrive on the day. That’s not a good thing and it could of quickly escalated into something messy, but luckily Flora’s dad, along with the bridesmaids were stars and helped Flora get to the church and marry her man, Neil.
After the ceremony, we drove up the road and saw this fantastic Teepee peering over the Yorkshire landscape.
It’s my first teepee wedding and I loved it, it’s so nice to be so close to the outdoors; you can keep an eye on the changing light outside, and whilst you’re out there you can see how different the teepee appears as the light fades.
The kids at Neil and Flora’s wedding were fantastic. They presumed I was the actual Peter Parker. (I think he used a Nikon too) Naturally I went along with it but when they started asking me some pretty deep Spiderman questions, I got in too deep and had to ask their parents for the answers.

As always, enjoy this wedding as much as I did.

You’re b/w’s are really great. You captured some amazing moments in those teepee(?) tents!

Really strong work, favourites include the red and green shoes, the reader (really dramatic framing there) and the first confetti shot — nicely caught. The first dance shots are great as well, not the easiest of locations to work in I’m guessing!
