Kat & James got married at Pickwell Manor, Devon
March 15th, 2012
Here we go…
You’ll remember Kat and James from a blog post a few weeks back, they’re the ones with the beachy engagement shoot.
Well, a few weeks later they got married at Pickwell Manor in Devon.
Pickwell is a breath taking venue full of carefully renovated rooms and gardens in amongst beautiful Devonshire countryside, just minutes from the beach and is run by two families. I don’t think I can sell it better than that to be honest!
I mostly dealt with Susannah who was a fantastic wedding coordinator. I had met up with her previously and it was obvious that she could keep James and Kat’s wedding running smoothly.
James wanted me to join him and the boys in the sea in the morning for some pre-wedding surfing shots. Well, that didn’t happen due to a serious lack of waves, but at least I managed to have more time to tell some stories with pictures back on land.
Kat and James were fortunate to have a break in the weather. The days prior to their wedding, The south west experienced torrential rain and with an outdoor ceremony planned in England, they were really taking a big risk. As you’ll see by the pictures, their attitude paid off and they enjoyed a fantastic day with their closest family and friends!
Enjoy the pictures, as usual I hope you feel part of the day. that’s always my intention.
Look out for the goosebumps!
Gorgeous work as always J. Love the b&w of the bride and groom on the cliff top
Wow. You blew this one away.
Great work as always JY. The ‘jumping tennis smash’ and ‘drawn curtain bridal prep’ shots are world class. Awesome stuff Amigo.
Amazing wedding, JY. Love the B&W getting ready shots with the slit of light in the back.
wow fantastic wedding, great storytelling images
Joseph, your work is so amazing right now, I love this post — fantastic — and you’ve even got some Sports Photography in there! Pretty special stuff…
The shot of the guy jumping with the tennis racket is brilliant! Great work Joseph!
so many great moments.. but my favorite is the bride and groom walking in the grass with the sheep.. lovely.
Wonderful story telling, Joseph! Lovely setting, especially up on the cliffs above the sea!
Once again, gorgeous work. I really love the 21st photo (I stopped to look at it for quite a while) and the one where they’re walking hand in hand with the sheep in the background.
I love the portraits in that huge field with the ocean behind. So pretty!
I absolutely love how you captured the ceremony — I feel like I could have been there! It’s such a fantastic mix of setting the scene and capturing the moment! Beautiful!
Really nice work, Joseph! I love that underexposed image of the bride with her ladies — so cool-looking!
Gorgeous photos, I love the light in these, especially when she is getting her dress put on with just the silhouettes in the room.
Joseph, it is always such a pleasure to check out your work. You capture so many moments with impeccable timing and flawless composition. Really well done.
Kat and James, you two look incredible. Congratulations!
Great work! They’re all fabulous. I especially love the getting ready shots.
