Ben & Amy got married at Hurst House

January 6th, 2011

I’m so happy to blog this wedding, you’ll love it, I’m sure of it.

Ben and Amy decided to hold their wedding at Hurst House in Laugharne, just outside Camarthen.
It was probably one of the last warm days of the year, and in beautiful surroundings, that tends to be the cherry on top.
I hadn’t had a chance to do an engagement shoot with Ben and Amy. Their day would be the first time I’d of met Ben, I knew what he looked like, Amy had sent me a letter bearing a personalised stamp with their insanely good looking faces on with my own little invite inside.
I won’t show the stamp, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see their faces a little later on, instead here is living proof that someone (Ben & Amy) think that I’m an “extraordiniare”…of sorts.

Ok, less bragging, more blogging.

So, as usual, I was a little nervous covering this wedding, I had heard that Ben had previously had a bad experience of wedding photographers, so it was up to me to give us photographers a good name again.
In my little mind, I had imagined this tyrannical figure of a man who would smash my camera to the floor each time I breathed the same air as him. Terrified, I was.

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, I think that by now you would of guessed that going by the usual calibre of my grooms on here, I couldn’t have been more incorrect.
Ben was a true gentleman. You could say that he was a perfect match for Amy.

Let me show you some pictures from the day and hopefully you’ll get sucked into the day just as easily as I did.

Amazing photo’s as usual Mr. Yarrow :) Did I spy Liz Barker
    — ex blue peter presenter in one of the pictures, or have i been
    mistaken?

  14. Joseph January 7th, 2011 at 12:30 pm

Correct! She made that amazing cake too!

  15. Martin Pemberton January 7th, 2011 at 1:31 pm

Love this — wonderful emotive images, a beautiful bride and my favourite would have to be the little boy with his bunny. The cello / bass is gorgeous too.

  18. Nathan Combes January 8th, 2011 at 2:10 am

I have to say, one wedding photographer to another that I absolutely adore every wedding that you post. You have a special talent sir. Wishing you a hugely successful 2011.

This is simply exceptional work Joseph. 2011 is set to be an amazing year for you.

  20. dan January 10th, 2011 at 8:18 am

There’s something that I can’t quite put my finger on, but something about these photos makes it so magical, even for a complete stranger. The mood, the joy, the excitement, the love … it flows from these photos.

I really do like how you present the photos.

Now THATs what I’m talking about!

  21. Tenielle January 10th, 2011 at 12:26 pm

WOW what a location, stunning bride, everything is just
lovely. I love the black and white photo of her leaning against the
wall, there’s something beautifully unspoken there :)

  22. Kathy(guest at Ben & Amy's) January 11th, 2011 at 7:30 pm

What a perfect day it was and you’ve captured it all incredibly. Seems like you were everywhere at once yet you were totally unobtrusive. Absolutely amazing photos! Captured the day beautifully. Think they’re the best wedding shots i’ve ever seen(even allowing for the obvious advantage you had of having Amy & Ben in leading roles). Great work!

  23. Natalie January 11th, 2011 at 10:23 pm

Wow, your work is truly exceptional! Gorgeous details, beautiful emotional moments — all captured flawlessly by your artistic eye. So much inspiration! :)

  24. Karen January 11th, 2011 at 11:12 pm

Wow! So many amazing shots. Beautiful!

  25. Dustin Hall January 15th, 2011 at 11:16 pm

Incredible, your photos, the location, the people, simply incredible!

  26. Becca Dilley January 16th, 2011 at 1:59 am

Wow, really beautiful and sweetly captured! I love all the details you have captured that involve people — I feel like I am there enjoying the laid back feel with them.
