Mick & Becky got married at Great John Street Hotel.
February 29th, 2012
You’ll love this wedding…
Mick and Becky are another one of my Manchester couples who booked me after seeing Matt and Annie’s wedding. It’s the wedding that features on the home page which has been up there since time began really. If you’ve not had a chance to check out, do so because there are some big changes coming to this site soon.
Becky chose to get ready at her parent’s beautiful house in Stockport, a house that, full of carefully selected art work, was an absolute pleasure to be in.
Then they picked Great John Street hotel in the centre on Manchester to host their wedding ceremony and reception.
Both Becky and Mick work in a secondary school, and Great John Street Hotel was an old school that has lovingly been remodelled into it’s current state, so it appeared to be the natural place to hold an amazing day.
Becky and Mick had clearly put in a lot of effort into making their day unforgettable. Like all weddings I shoot though, I am always very interested in the guests as they really do make the day.
These guests were no exception at all. A fantastic bunch of people.
At each wedding, I learn something. Usually it’s about technique, or human behaviour or myself.
This time my lesson was: Don’t wear new shoes to a wedding. Stupid stupid stupid.
Anyway, have fun looking through these pictures.
I hope you’ll feel that you were one of the guests.
Enjoy.
Stunning work as always Joseph, you’ve captured some really great moments :-) xx
great work buddy
Some cracking shots Joseph, really good grit on the monochromes too, which is exactly the way I like to serve up my black and whites too. Love the cheeky observations too, in particular the brick chimney with modern skyscrapers behind; subtle sir. Nice one!
Superb work Mr Yarrow, loving the framing and processing!
Dude, I am loving your black and whites. awesome work.
“You’ll love this wedding…” — you are not wrong! WOW WOW WOW!! I love the details in the things that you spotted — the hearts on the staircase — and i loved the art work on the walls — and the contrast of the brick chimney and the modern building — AND of course all those beautiful moments shared between loved ones xx
It looks like everyone had a great time. I love the shot of the bride wiping her tear while everyone cheered in the background. Well done.
Lovely documentation Sir!
Damn I love how you play with shadows. Nicely done.

Superb set, looks like a fantastic day and great B&W work! Love the one of the groomsmen on the front row, brilliant capture, and the bride wiping the tear during the toast is a wonderful shot. Also, speaking as a fan of the Beetham Tower it’s nice to see it featuring in there :P
Beautiful story telling, the emotion you have captured in the ceremony makes you feel like you are sitting amongst the guests. Love the mono conversions, fab stuff!
