Ahh Bristol. Home of bridges, rivers, balloons, big nails in the ground, some vandalism, a ship, Carol Vorderman a very big Debenham's and of course Burwalls; the location of Abbie and Nicholas's wedding. Although they both live in Australia, they, along with family flew over here to have a fantastic wedding.

Before I blog a wedding for you, I'd thought I'd boast a little.
3 of my images from last year were awarded in the final contest of 2012 in the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA).
Previously I have won two other awards from the WPJA, so frankly, I'm thrilled.

Congratulations to all the other winners this year. The winning images this time are absolutely incredible.

Jack & Clare got married. Hill Place, Hampshire

Jack & Clare, what a beautiful day they had for their wedding in Hampshire.
They got married in a church just walking distance from Clare's parents and their reception was held in a beautiful Georgian Villa.
Again, I was given free reign to mingle with the guests and capture the atmosphere.

Rich & Sian get married! Priston Mill

Well, things are back on track so here's a lovely summer wedding to warm the cockles of your heart. (whatever that actually means)
Rich and Sian were married in Eastern-in-Gordano then went on to the very English Priston Mill, just outside of the City of Bath.
They went for a DIY theme with touches of vintage. Think homemade chutneys in glass jars with those fancy fabric lids as favours and a Gramophone DJ. Yes, the latter does exist!

The Kids Are Alright!

One day, we'll have kids.

Right now though, I'm quite happy taking pictures of everyone else's kids at the weddings I cover.
Like an Uncle, I stay for the fun and leave before things get messy.

Simon works in schools and Anna is a professional Mountain Biker, hence the scars!
