As you may, or may not have guessed by now,  Bianca and Jimmy proved their love to each other and their guests by getting married on Saturday, and I was the very lucky man who shot their wedding!

They had their very beautiful and emotional ceremony and reception held at the beautiful Mellington Hall Hotel.
I could only ever say that name in a posh voice when we were there, darling! What What!

I can't wait to shoot there again and explore the grounds some more, because Saturdays weather was....how shall I put this....? Questionable?

A big Thank you to Kim and Lee for making their day run so smooth.

I've been a friend of Bianca's for many many years now, so shooting her wedding is a huge honor, she really does rock.
Slight bit of pressure here though, both her sister and mother are wedding photographers! Argh!

Then there is her man, Jimmy. A very talented chef and, as I was saying to Jess last night, he's just one of those genuinely happy guys. He loves life and he's absolutely crazy about Bianca, it's sweet to see.

They have a beautiful house in the middle of nowhere (a town called Knighton) so we went up with our friends, the Hornby's (Mel is a bridesmaid, and Naf is an usher) and had a general chilled out weekend.

To celebrate, Jess booked two weeks off work, which was perfect! Just what we needed.
We got up to all sorts, it was brilliant! We didn't do as much as what we wanted to as we both had the cold that everyone seems to have at the moment.
I think the best thing we did was visiting Thermae Bath Spa for a twilight session. Along with allot more, they have a rooftop pool with really warm water. As the cold air hits the warm water, lots of steam comes off and it's an amazing site!
The deal clincher though, was that it was firework night, and there was a massive fireworks display over the city next to the cathedral, and we had the best view ever (which was often momentarily interupted by the steam) It was a fantastic experience!
If you live locally, make sure you're there next year! You will not regret it!! And you'll see us there too, I'm sure!
Next time we're there, I'll try to smuggle a waterproof camera in!

We had some really great meals, we ate at Jamie Olivers new restaurant in bath which was amazing. Jess loved it of course, she's a huge Jamie Oliver Fan. Browns was another place we ate at with a couple of our friends, and I plan to incoorperate the building into a future photoshoot.

On a technical point, while editing these pictures, I noticed that I had been using the same lens for the whole 2 weeks, which I don't mind at all.
For quite a long time, I've owned the 50mm f1.8, but it really just seems to sit at the bottom of my bag.
I was never happy with the focusing speed, and the sharpness, especially wide open at f1.8
My sister in law borrowed my usual lens, my 18-50mm 2.8 so I used that as an oppurtunity to get to know my "nifty fifty" a bit better.
I fell in love with it! =)
Its perfect for dim rooms, and portraits. It just throws the background out of focus and makes the subject really pop!

They got married 2 years ago and have gone to Thailand on holiday.

They've got a little kitten called Tails (as in sonic and tails...) andnd this cat is Mental... Seriously!

Anyway, we're having a great time here.

Heres some pictures from their wedding that I shot for them.

We drove down to Cornwall on Saturday to meet up with some friends who were camping. With it being summer in England, it rained, but we did a spot of body boarding, and sat on the beach (in the car of course!)

I chose to just take one lens with me, the 50mm 1.8 (instead of the usual 4 lenses...)
I immediatly regretted this, but its nice to just be limited to a prime lens, because it gets you thinking more about composistion. If you want to zoom into something, you have to walk there!

My 50mm 1.8 lets in allot more light than any other lenses, so its great for dark weddings where I can't use flash, and even better for portraits, as the background gets very blurred out. Very flattering.

If you don't own a prime lens, really consider purchasing one if you want super sharp images, and don't want to use flash at a wedding.

The sun came out just in time to let us watch it set, which was brilliant.

I felt very honoured to be asked by this couple to get a silloutte of them both!

What will I be blogging about next?
Well, as you know, I have Sam and Esthers wedding coming up on bank holiday monday.

I should be having a delivery of a guest book that I compiled for Sam and Reanne any day soon, so I'll post some pictures up for you to see.

I've been writing content and reviews for this blog, and for my site so I won't be running out of anything to write about.

As from today, I will be looking for a blog to feature.

It was brilliant to meet up with some really old friends, and some new friends.
Sam and Reanne, a couple who I'll be blogging about in the next week or so were there, and they're looking forward to me shooting their wedding, I'm also really excited!

We won't be going to Ashley and Sarahs wedding though, which we're gutted about, The date has been booked by another couple whose wedding we're going to. We're REALLY sorry guys!!

As a Bristol Based Photographer I offer a large range of services, including wedding photography, portrait photography and Event Photography.
I Photograph weddings in a relaxed photojournalistic style and make a real effort to make my couples feel as relaxed as possible.

We went to the night glow last night. The night glow is where all the balloons are tethered down, and the balloon crew light their balloons up in time to music. Everyone "ooohs" and "aaaahs". Its just a really great atmosphere. Just when the balloons finish doing their fancy stuff, a fireworks show sets off and everyone carrys on "ooohing" and "aaaahing".
There's a fair at the festival too. I don't know what it is about fairs, I just don't like them, but everyone else loved it =)
I just wish I had enough to time to go back there this weekend with my tripod, but its just not possible.
Maybe next year...
(I'm sure thats what I said last year...)

This weekend, or more specifically Sunday, Me and Jessica are going to a dear friends engagement party, so they've asked me to shoot some pictures for them. Expect to see them on monday if my head doesn't hurt!! =)

Phil had asked me to take pictures for him, but the whole day was so frantic with some real competition between the teams, there wasn't time to stop and take a picture of everything, I ended up keeping the camera in the boot.

It all ended well with the treasure held at a village hall with a hog roast and a "portisheads got talent" show.
The day after, we met up with Phil, and his wife, Hannah on the beach for a BBQ.
