After shooting in every corner of the country apart from of course Bristol, it was such a pleasure to shoot the Bristol wedding of Joseph and Emma.
We both love discovering new parts of the UK, but being able to have a lie-in on a beautiful day because the ceremony is 1)15 minutes away from my front door and 2) doesn't start till 3, really is one of those things that made me smile from ear to ear!
Clearly, I'm easily pleased.
A lie-in and mid-afternoon wedding with much better lighting conditions are of course obvious reasons as to why that day was so good, but the real reason of course was Joseph and Emma themselves. We met up in December in Clifton and I immediately liked them. Such a charming couple.
Their wedding was one of the most relaxed affairs I've attended.
Of course, it's easy to want a relaxed wedding, but to be well organised with it is so important and often overlooked by couples who just want a wedding without all the fuss. It takes skill to do it right. And I've seen it done wrong!
Jessica again was in control of the flipbook and I think she's done an amazing job here.
There was a little issue at the end where someone accidentally knocked into the tripod.
We've been doing these flipbooks at the majority of our recent weddings and they seem to go down so well, all our couples can't wait for us to flipbook their wedding!
I'll go on and on about the wedding in my next post about them. So meanwhile, please just enjoy our flipbook.
A few weekends ago, I shot the amazing wedding of David and Jodie.
Lovely couple.
Here's a bit of a pop fact for you here; David's last name is Maggio. Jodie's last name was Bass, but she loves Marilyn Monroe....who married Joe DiMaggio. Jodie's name is now Jodie Maggio!
Bingo!
David and Jodie's wedding was incredible, I've never seen so many amazing details. So much effort was put into making everything look right, from the button holes to the table decorations.
They were married at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hinckley. Not the easiest place to shoot in as the majority of light is from fluorescent bulbs. Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure I'll survive. One of my earlier couples were also married here.
We moved on to a friends house for the formal pictures and drinks. Such a beautiful house, a whole wedding could easily be held there!
After the formals, we then moved onto the Poachers Bistro in a tiny village called Thurlaston.
The room for the reception had been decorated in an incredible manor. Jodie's and David's personality really shone through!
Thank you David and Jodie, you were awesome!
Enjoy these pictures from their wedding in Leicestershire!
Peacock feathers with scrabble pieces for the groomsmen. Get in!
It made my job easier remembering everybody's name...Derrick...Dennis...Desmond...DAVID! That's the one!
Hello cheeky!
Will demonstrates his wimbledon lines-man skills. Very good.
Here's our groom!
Jodie looked incredible.
A few last checks.
We await with bated breath
David can't believe his eyes!
Barnaby looks great in this picture...just making sure the ring is on properly!
Married!!
Check out all the flowers and details at their reception. They were everywhere. Sorry, everywhere!
That's a contented looking groom right there!
Jodie Maggio thinks that josephyarrow.com is great!
This here was the man who landed the official title of "The Heckler"
Let the speeches begin!
Roy...Robert..... RYAN! gave a great Best Man's speech.
And Bridesmaid Hannah sang a beautiful song to a tune that I had never heard before because she had composed it herself....or so I've been told to say anyway.
This here was something that really makes my job extra special. Not only do I get to be with great people on a very important day in their life, but I also get to share in some extra special events.
During the bridesmaids and ushers shots, a friend received a picture message from a close friend of their very new born baby!
And they went nuts!
A video message was immediately sent! Gotta love technology!
I was later contacted by Abi to let me know that the new Mum Jess, didn't have the best of times in hospital, so our thoughts are with her!
The other best man whose name I can't see, sorry, remember. (Just joking Will)
Let the wild rumpus start!!
I hope you enjoyed!
I hope you can tell from these pictures that I had a great time shooting this wedding, it was a feast for the eyes!
Jodie and David thank you so much for choosing me. You, your family and friends made me so welcome and it was great to make some new friends.
Excuse my tardiness here, I've been super super busy and there is no sign of slowing down at the moment.
That's certainly a good thing, being busy, but my blog has suffered and I apolgise.
I've got so much to blog so if you're a guest waiting for a wedding to be blogged, the pictures are on their way, I promise!
So Moses and Sabrina exchanged vows a couple of weekends ago in Thornbury, Bristol. They then went on to Caldicot for their formals, and wedding reception! For couples who aren't sure, I do formals (posed family group shots) at all my weddings despite never showing them.
Moses and Sabrina are good friends of ours, it was a pleasure to be their wedding photographer and naturally there were some very familiar faces around!
He'll hate me dearly for saying this on here, but spare a thought for one of my best friends Nathanael; Sabrina's older brother who has just come out of brain surgery and is on the road to recovery!
Also, Sabrina's father is also having an operation on his nose!
There, you get pretty pictures, and Hornby health updates!
Enjoy these pictures please!
First port of call is Caroline, the Mother of the Bride looking wonderful!
Moses and his Dad.
Dan, the very best man.
Here's our Bride, Sabrina looked stunning!
Samual keeps an eye out for monsters, or something. Look how much he's grown!
David, Sabrina's father looked so proud!
I love these two pictures...
Bridesmaids; Melissa, Kim and Hayley all look on.
Nathanael, at this point, a brain surgery virgin!
Would you believe it? Caroline made this bouquet, her very first attempt! Incredible! If you need flowers, she's the one to call!
A freshly married couple! Lovely stuff!
I love this picture! Super cute!
Dan starts off lightly with his speech but soon resorts to ripping Moses to shreds.
He also explains why people call him Moses (his real name being Carl)
I love Sabrina's face here, watching her husband give his speech.
The ushers braved the elements for some special shots.
Find a broken Barbie scooter in a skatepark and the world is your oyster! Good sport, is our Moses!
The father daughter dance! I love Dave's eyes here!
The end!
Thank you Moses and Sabrina for letting me be with you all day, and also thank you for the "special food" (previous couples of mine know what an utter pain I am to feed)
I hope you enjoy your new lives together!
Keep an eye on the blog, I have plenty to show you very soon!
